كشف وكيل اللاعبيين سيد مرعي، عن استقطاب الزمالك لمدافع مصري خلال فترة الانتقالات الصيفية المقبلة، بجانب جناح أجنبي، رافضًا الإفصاح عن أسماء اللاعبين.

وقال مرعي في تصريحات تلفزيوينة بفضائية “أون تايم سبورتس”: “الزمالك سيضم مدافع مصري في صفقة انتقال حر خلال الصيف المقبل، لاعب جيد وافق الجهاز الفني عليه بشكل مبدئي”.

وأضاف: “كما يوجد لاعب أجنبي في مركز الجناج –فاكهة- مثل إيمانويل، ولكن لا أريد أن أفصح عن أسماء اللاعبين”.

وأكد مرعي: “لدي مستحقات متأخرة لدى محمد أبو جبل هو حارس مرمى كبير ومحترم ومن أفضل الحراس في مصر، ولكن طالما تتزوج فلتدفع ما عليك”.

وأتم: “لدي 10% من قيمة عقد أبو جبل، قرابة المليون جنية، وتحثت مع أبو جبل مرة وأثنين وثلاثة وكان رده، هو عندما أحصل على جميع أموالي من الزمالك، وبالفعل قد حصل على أمواله بالكامل من الزمالك ولم أحصل على مستحقاتي”.

Manchester City fans are unhappy with Kyle Walker after the Englishman put in another questionable performance for the Citizens on Tuesday night.

It has been a tough year for Walker so far, losing his place in the England squad and seeing his spot at City come under threat since the signing of Joao Cancelo.

SofaScore rated the right-back’s performance as a 6.6 – the third lowest in City’s starting XI. Throughout the game, Walker lost possession 19 times and made three fouls. At the same time, he delivered two crosses but failed to find a sky blue shirt on both occasions.

Fans seem to be tired of Walker’s performances this season and are ready for him to drop out of the side.

Despite the versatile defender proving himself as one of Europe’s best in City’s Premier League domination, some supporters want to see Cancelo on the right nowadays.

Certain fans have believe he looked “miles off it” in the Champions League, while another drew parallels between him and another unpopular defender in Manchester, Nicolas Otamendi.

وأضاف: “لو كنت رئيسًا للجنة الحكام كنت سأوافق على تعيين حكم مصري للقمة، كيف أهم مباراة في الدوري المصري يظل الحكم المصري طيلة 50 سنة ضيف شرف بها؟”.

وواصل: “الحكام الأجانب يخطئون، فلماذا نتقبل أخطاءهم ونرفضها للحكام المصريين؟!، خطوة جيدة ظهور البنا اليوم في مباراة الأهلي والزمالك، لإعادة الثقة في التحكيم المصري”.

واختتم: “ثقتنا كبيرة في محمود البنا، سيؤدي مباراة جيدة، أريد من الجماهير عدم التركيز على الأخطاء”.

Mason Holgate may have been given a career lifeline at Goodison Park as Yerry Mina’s injury could see the Colombian miss this weekend’s clash with Brighton.

Mina sustained a hamstring problem in the win over West Ham United last weekend, and Everton have reported that the Colombian remains a doubt for the trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.

In his press conference, Marco Silva said: “[On Mina] it’s not such good news at the moment. Of course, we have two more days until the game, so let’s see how he is tomorrow and on matchday as well.

“It’s not a serious, serious injury but it’s something that until now hasn’t put Yerry ready to work with the team in a full session.”

In place of the 25-year-old will most likely be Holgate: “Mason is ready and prepared,” Silva said. “He’s showed me every single day that he’s working hard to achieve and get his chance.

“He already did in two Carabao Cup matches. He did well, performed well and, in the game against Sheffield Wednesday, he did a very good game.

“I’m 100 per cent sure if he gets the chance he’ll be ready to perform at his level because we believe in him.”

Not many chances left

Holgate is now 23 and is at an age where he should have tied down a regular spot within the squad. If the situation continues where Holgate is out of the starting XI, surely he will have to consider plans elsewhere.

The Englishman has seen just 18 minutes so far in the Premier League this season, but the 90 minutes he could get against the Seagulls may be his most important for the Blues to date.

Both Mina and Michael Keane have started every game so far in the league, but they have let in 13 goals in nine games at the back despite some glimpses of improvement.

Although they were both impressive against West Ham, neither of them have proven themselves to be un-droppable, and so a top performance from Holgate this weekend could just rescue his chance to become a Toffees regular.

At 23 and out of the starting XI, this is his golden opportunity – a mistake-riddled display that ends in defeat would surely put the nail in the coffin of his future at Goodison.

West Ham United may have managed to restore some respectability to the scoreline against Newcastle United with two late goals, but that wasn’t enough to appease the supporters.

Seeing their team go 3-0 down against the Magpies caused plenty of frustration, with Robert Snodgrass seemingly among the contingent demanding more, having scored the goal that made it 3-2.

Speaking to the Hammers’ official channels, he described the showing as “a performance that isn’t West Ham-like” and stated that the team must improve:

The sentiment was appreciated by some due to the performance he put in, getting a WhoScored rating of 7.9, the highest of any West Ham player.

However, many fans are tired of hearing the same old comments after games, with someone often coming out after another game without victory, of which there has now been six in a row, to echo similarly generic and empty sentiments.

Rather than being told that the team will start doing better, many fans are demanding that they actually show improvement on the pitch.

Many Liverpool fans have been lauding Georginio Wijnaldum on social media for his ‘amazing’ performance against KRC Genk in the Champions League.

The Dutch midfielder has been one of Jurgen Klopp’s most frequently called upon options this season, with Wijnaldum playing the fifth-highest number of minutes among the Reds squad in the Premier League.

He has also now started two of their four Champions League group stage ties this term, and marked his latest outing with the opening goal on Tuesday night.

Wijnaldum’s strike in the 14th-minute came as he prodded the ball into the roof of the net from close range, when Genk captain Sebastian Dewaest failed to clear James Milner’s low cross.

Opening the scoring also meant that three of Wijnaldum’s last four goals for Liverpool have come in the Champions League, following the £75,000-per-week midfielder’s brace in the semi-final second-leg comeback win against Barcelona in May.

Tuesday night’s encounter with Genk was not an affair which the Dutchman only had a goal to show for his efforts, either, as fans have lauded the 28-year-old for helping to set the pace against the Belgian side.

Wijnaldum recorded 68 touches at Anfield, from which he played 52 passes, delivered one key ball, made three successful dribbles and took a total of two shots, per WhoScored data.

Of his 52 passes, 25 were also marked as being forward balls, with 15 of those coming in the final third.

The Athletic journalist James Pearce has hailed Liverpool man Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and believes he’s given himself every chance of starting against Manchester City on Sunday.

What did he say?

Liverpool will host City this Sunday in an almighty clash at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp will no doubt look to field his most in-form players, as a win for his side takes the club nine points clear in the table.

Certain players have become guaranteed starters lately, such as Fabinho. However, the likes of Naby Keita have not been able to fully take their chances in midfield. Although one man who seems to impress under the radar is Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Pearce wrote for The Athletic: “Naby Keita certainly didn’t do enough on Tuesday night to stake a claim for a start at the weekend, but Oxlade-Chamberlain couldn’t have done much more to force his way in.”

City’s nemesis

The Englishman bagged the winner for Liverpool in the Champions League this week, which puts the defending champions at the top of the group. It was another occasion in which the versatile star has gone slightly under the radar with his important contributions.

It is easy to praise Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah these days, but Oxlade-Chamberlain’s goal against Genk was his third in the Champions League, making him the joint top scorer along with the Egyptian.

There is then the worry for City, having witnessed the 26-year-old smash in a brilliant goal against them in Europe two seasons ago. His goal and overall performance will ring fresh in the memory of the City faithful and should he match this display, Pep Guardiola’s side could be in trouble again.

The £35m man has proved to be a handful for the champions and his pace, tenacity and goalscoring ability could be a key difference on Sunday.

From a City perspective, the fact Pearce believes Oxlade-Chamberlain is in good enough form to be in contention for a place in Sunday’s starting XI is ominous news indeed.
