Marquinhos Santos fará sua estreia pelo Fortaleza nesta quarta-feira (9), às 21h45 (de Brasília), diante do Sport, no Castelão. O treinador chegou ao Ceará para substituir Flávio Araújo e tem a incumbência de reerguer a equipe, terceira colocada do grupo D da Copa Nordeste, com quatro pontos, atrás do Leão da Ilha do Retiro e do River-PI.

– Estou ansioso pela realização de um sonho. É a primeira partida que faremos e acho que temos uma boa equipe. Vamos tentar a vitória – disse.

Desempregado desde junho de 2015, quando foi demitido do Coritiba, Marquinhos tem forte histórico de trabalho em categorias de base. O profissional começou a carreira comandando os juniores do Atlético-PR, onde passou cinco anos e foi vice-campeão da Copa São Paulo de 2009.

Right now the Red Devils’ defence remains their Achilles heel, and there may soon come a point where he may find it almost impossible to explain why he has left certain players out.

United sat at the top of the table last month after embarking on a remarkable 13-game unbeaten run before they were stopped in their tracks by a resilient Sheffield United at Old Trafford.

Since then, they have drawn 0-0 at Arsenal, thumped Southampton 9-0, been held to a 3-3 draw by Everton and stumbled against Premier League strugglers West Brom on Sunday to stay second behind Manchester City.

But now Solskjaer must dare to be bold again and put his faith in those who have repaid his trust in the past.

Take Axel Tuanzebe, for example – widely considered to be one of the club’s hottest prospects – the towering robust central defender sat on the bench as United toiled in vain against West Brom at the Hawthorns.

Having impressed against Paris-Saint Germain in the Champions League, he has already started to ask the question just what more does he have to do to make the starting XI regularly and Solskjaer will know his excuses are starting to wear thin.

Whilst Solskjaer himself was effusive in his praise for Tuanzebe’s “tremendous” performance following the 2-1 win over PSG, the home-grown centre-back has had to patiently bide his time when waiting for his opportunities, with just one start to show for his six Premier League appearances so far this season.

However, it may be time for the club legend to consider rotating his squad ahead of tonight’s trip to the two-time La Liga champions, and he may not have to look much further than their leaky defence. United have now conceded four goals in their past three fixtures in all competitions.

But it’s important to get the balancing act of juggling both domestic and European competitions absolutely spot-on as they enter the business end of the season, so giving players like Tuanzebe the chance to stake their claim for a spot in Solskjaer’s starting XI could be key to their chances of success.

In fact, if you compare the performances of Tuanzebe and Lindelof this season, it’s no surprise to see the 23-year-old is streets ahead in almost every area.

Tuanzebe makes 1.2 tackles per 90 in the Premier League while Lindelof has managed just 0.8 in the top flight this term. Perhaps crucially, the young defender boasts a better positional sense of awareness, as he made 2.2 clearances per game in the Champions League. Lindelof, on the other hand, could only muster two.

It’s becoming increasingly apparent that he has to be afforded more opportunities and should start against Real Sociedad on Thursday evening.

كشف علاء أباظة وكيل أعمال سيف الدين الجزيري لاعب الزمالك، عن العروض التي تلقاها اللاعب في الفترة الأخيرة.

وقال أباظة في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر فضائية “إي تي سي”: “هناك 6 عروض للتعاقد مع سيف الدين الجزيري، ناديان من السعودية ومثلهما في قطر، ونادي تركي وآخر إماراتي، لا توجد أي عروض رسمية، فقط اتصالات من الأندية واستفسار للتعاقد مع اللاعب في يناير”.

وتابع: “عقد الجزيري مستمر لعامين ونصف مع الزمالك ولا يوجد شرط جزائي قبل نهاية الموسم المقبل، وشرطه الجزائي بعد ذلك يصل لما هو أكثر من 2 مليون دولار”.

وأردف: “الزمالك لم يتحدث معي لأنه لا يوجد عروض رسمية حتى الآن، خاصة وأن سيف الجزيري وصل مصر منذ 3 أيام فقط بعد مشاركته في البطولة العربية”.

وأكمل: “هناك اتصالات من بعض الوكلاء، بدأت الأمور تتطور مع نهاية بطولة كأس العرب، ولم يكن هناك وقت للاجتماع مع إدارة الزمالك، لكنهم تواصلوا معي لمعرفة رغبة الجزيري، الذي لا يمانع في الرحيل إذا وصل عرض جيد”.

وأشار: “الجزيري ينتظر عرضا مناسبا وليس لديه مشكلة في الرحيل عن الدوري المصري، مع اقتناعه بأنه متواجد مع ناد كبير”.

وأكد: “أعتقد أن سيف يحتاج للعب للنادي كبير إذا رحل من الزمالك، والأمور المادية ليست هدفه، سننظر أولا لاسم وتاريخ النادي الذي يمكنه الانضمامه له”.

وتطرق للحديث عن محمد مجلي لاعب المقاولون: “كانت هناك مفاوضات مع الزمالك، والأمور كانت تسير بطريقة جيدة، ولكن أزمة القيد في الأبيض أوقفت الصفقة”.

واختتم: “الأمور كانت تسير تجاه انتقال محمد مجلي لنادي الزمالك مع اللجنة السابقة، ووارد أن ينضم للأبيض بنهاية الموسم الحالي”.

Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes that manager Marcelo Bielsa must be backed by Victor Orta and the club’s board to turn the Whites into a “force.”

The Argentinian tactician has done a remarkable job at Elland Road, guiding the club back to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

On top of this, Bielsa has guided his team to 10th place in the standings, winning 11 games and scoring 43 goals from 25 games.

Leeds invested heavily into the first-team squad having signed the likes of Rodrigo, Diego Llorente, Raphinja, Helder Costa and Robin Koch – spending a total of £104.63m (via Transfermarkt) last summer.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson believes that Bielsa has to be backed by the Leeds board once again to take the team to the next level.

“There’s a real rapport with Bielsa and Leeds United, it seems like he’s finally found somewhere where he’s really enjoying working and that he’s got a real tie to. He’s having to spend a lot of time away from his family but he’s a workaholic and it’s something that he seems to have a real passion for.

“He’s found a home at Leeds and I think the feeling’s mutual. He only ever signs 12-month contracts and that always gives him the option to leave but he’s talking about players for next season and he’s already planning a new assault on the Premier League.

“He can see what he’s got already and with new investment for the team, if he gets a decent budget then he can really turn Leeds into a force next season.”

Transfer Tavern Verdict

It is great to see the ambition that Leeds are showing to get back to the glory days, but Robinson is spot on – the club cannot afford to rest on their laurels.

If they can finish inside the top 10 this season, there is no reason why they can’t aim for the European places during the 2021/22 campaign.

While this year has provided a solid foundation – 2022 could be a huge year for Leeds United.

Tavares one for the future

Tavares is very much seen as a player for the future, with his own manager Brendan Rodgers dubbing him as a ‘real talent’ after a very impressive display in a pre-season win over Birmingham City back in August of last year.

The 19-year-old made his senior debut for the Foxes in their 2-0 home loss to Slavia Prague in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night, showing how much faith Rodgers has in him already at such a young age.

Tavares has a very famous cousin in the form of former Manchester United and Portugal international star Nani, who of course has won both the Premier League and the Champions League with the Red Devils.

If he is to develop to be anywhere near as good as what Nani was, then Tavares certainly has a bright future in the beautiful game.

Nonetheless, the Tyneside club may have a real player on their hands if they are able to secure his signature.

Depois de passar a segunda-feira observando o auxiliar-técnico Alberto Valentim comandar o treino do Palmeiras, Cuca começou a colocar a mão na massa de fato nessa terça-feira. O coletivo na Academia de Futebol revelou um comandante bem participativo e atento até aos menores detalhes.

Para explicar aos jogadores o que deveria ser feito, Cuca fez cruzamento, chutou a gol, cobrou lateral e até puxou um contra-ataque para a equipe reserva, com direito a um drible no lateral-esquerdo Egídio. Ele parou a atividade diversas vezes, sempre gesticulando e conversando muito com os atletas.

Cuca não se limitou a escalar titulares e reservas e colocá-los para se enfrentar. Ele trabalhou até situações banais de uma partida, como arremessos laterais, algo que Oswaldo de Oliveira também costumava fazer, mas Marcelo Oliveira, demitido na quarta-feira passada, não. Outra novidade foi a linha de impedimento ensaiada pela defesa em cobranças de falta laterais, algo que não se vê no Palmeiras há alguns anos. Até o posicionamento da barreira em faltas frontais para o adversário foi trabalhado.

Cuca também se mostrou adepto do bate-papo nesses dois primeiros dias de trabalho. Foi possível ver Zé Roberto, Gabriel e Lucas Barrios conversando a sós com o técnico, assim como o auxiliar Alberto Valentim. كشفت صحيفة “سبورت” الكتالونية، سبب تأخر نادي برشلونة في الإعلان الرسمي عن إتمام صفقة الدولي الإسباني فيران توريس، من صفوف مانشستر سيتي.

اللاعب الإسباني يتواجد في برشلونة منذ الأمس بعدما حسم النادي الكتالوني اتفاقه مع مانشستر سيتي لضم فيران في يناير.

وخضع توريس للفحص الطبي، ونجح في اجتياز الاختبارات بنجاح، وكان من المُنتظر الإعلان الرسمي عن الصفقة مساء اليوم الإثنين.

وستكون صفقة فيران توريس هي الثانية للنادي الكتالوني في ميركاتو الشتاء، بعد عودة البرازيلي داني ألفيس في صفقة انتقال حر.
