جدير بالذكر أن الأرجنتيني آنخيل دي ماريا وصل إلى تورينو ويخضع للفحص الطبي مع يوفنتوس اليوم الجمعة تمهيدًا للإعلان الرسمي عن الصفقة.

When Slavisa Jokanovic took over at Sheffield United earlier this summer, it is highly unlikely that the 53-year-old manager would have thought his Blades side would be languishing down in the Championship relegation zone when the first international break of the season came along.

However, after losing three and drawing two of their opening five fixtures of the 2021/22 campaign, as well as scoring just one goal while conceding seven, that is exactly where the Serbian finds his United team.

As a result, rather predictably, a number of Sheffield United’s players have turned in a number of rather disappointing performances, none more so than Oliver Burke.

Lost 70% of duels

In truth, none of Slavisa Jokanovic’s six options up front have covered themselves in glory so far this season, having scored just one Championship goal between them, however, it is Burke who has perhaps been the most disappointing of a bad bunch.

Indeed, over his three league appearances this term, the £5.4m-rated centre-forward has scored no goals, registered no assists, made no key passes and created no big chances for his teammates, as well as hitting the target with an average of just 0.3 shots per game.

The 24-year-old has also made no tackles, no interceptions, lost 70% of his duels and has given away possession of the ball an average of 6.3 times per appearance.

These returns – or lack thereof – have seen the £19k-per-week forward earn a highly disappointing average SofaScore match rating of 6.53, ranking him as Jokanovic’s fourth-worst performer in the second tier of English football.

As such, should Sheffield United have any hope of mounting a push for a top-six finish this season, it is undeniable that Burke must start pulling his weight in the Blades attack, or else the club could well find themselves in a fight to remain a Championship side come next May – rather than challenging for promotion from the division.

Em outro jogo do Grupo B, o Botafogo-SP goleou o Macaé. Os paulistas fizeram 3 a 0, com Morais,Edno eWesley. Com o placar, o time chegou a 11 pontos, empatando como Volta Redonda na liderança do Grupo B, ambos com as mesmas três vitórias, dois empates e uma derrota.

Além do placar, o jogo reservou outras emoções. Ainda no primeiro tempo, houve um gol da Pantera anulado. Jogadores reclamaram bastante do lance que, segundo o quarto árbitro, Edno tocou com a mão na bola antes da finalização de Morais. Também houve um momento de tensão na saída para o intervalo. Apesar disso, a arbitragem manteve a decisão e controlou o jogo até o apito final. O Macaé segue com quatro pontos, na zona de rebaixamento.

Pelo Grupo A, destaque para o empate entre Salgueiro e Cuiabá. Atuando no Estádio Cornélio Barros, o time da casa saiu na frente com gol de Henal e ainda desperdiçou um pênalti com Valdeir. No segundo tempo, o Cuiabá pressionou e empatou a partida com o zagueiroDoulgas Mendes.

O empate por 1 a 1 não foi bom para nenhuma das equipes, que estão empatadas com cinco pontos, na parte inferior da tabela.

Ainda neste domingo, Fortaleza e Sampaio Corrêa fecharam a agenda de jogos do dia. A equipe do Cearáfez 3 a 0 e garantiu liderança do Grupo A da Série C, com 13 pontos. A Bolívia Querida, por outro lado, segue no meio da tabela. Os gols do confronto foram anotados por Lúcio Flávio, duas vezes, e Pedro Carmona.

Na segunda, a sexta rodada tem seu encerramento com a partida entre Botafogo-PB e Remo, às 21h (de Brasília), no Almeidão.

Leading figures from the Asian Cricket Council will meet in Colombo on Friday with the impact of the Mumbai terror attacks, and the consequences for subcontinent cricket, set to be a focal point.Although not on the official agenda, the fall-out from the Mumbai atrocities will occupy a key part of the meeting. It is the latest terror-related issue to hit cricket in Asia, with Pakistan already failing to attract opposition due to teams not wanting to tour and the postponement of the Champions Trophy.Suggestions that the 2011 World Cup could be moved away from Asia have been quickly played down, but the progress of planning for the tournament was already one of the main points on the agenda after the ICC asked for the boards to speed up their work.The PCB’s new chairman, Ijaz Butt, may also take the opportunity to discuss the upcoming India-Pakistan series. There is intense speculation that the series will be cancelled following the attacks in Mumbai but the final word is still awaited from the Indian government which will decide the fate of the series.The meeting will also see Butt taking over as the ACC President, a post which has been vacant since Nasim Ashraf resigned as PCB chairman in August.Sri Lanka Cricket will be represented by chairman Arjuna Ranatunga and Bangladesh Cricket Board director Ashraful Haq will also attend the meeting. There is still no confirmation whether BCCI president Shashank Manohar will attend the meeting or send a representative.

Speaking to ESPN’s Equipo F (via Sport Witness), former Newcastle United and Colombia ace Asprilla has now revealed that an agent told him that no teams in Italy wanted to sign Rodriguez because of ‘problems’ talking on his Twitch channel:

“During the (World Cup) qualifiers, in Barranquilla I met an agent. We met in a restaurant. He speaks very good Spanish, he is Italian, he works with the people of Manchester.

“He told me a story that James, right now in this market, was offered to all the teams in Italy and nobody wanted to take him because of the problems of talking on Twitch. They were even being offered half the salary.”

The Verdict: Relief

It is certainly a relief for Rafa Benitez’s team that they have been able to keep hold of Rodriguez in the end, as he could turn out to be a very important player for them over the course of the rest of the campaign.

The attacking midfield player scored six goals and made a further nine assists in 26 games in total over all competitions last term (Transfermarkt), and is still a creative force that could be very useful to the Toffees.

Nonetheless, given restrictions last season with fans in stadiums, the Blues faithful will want to finally see him play in the flesh, and now there is an opportunity to do that.

Hughes, Jaques and Victoria’s Chris Rogers are the leading contenders to replace Matthew Hayden, who retired on Tuesday, and each batsman will have one Sheffield Shield game to impress ahead of the announcement of the squad for South Africa.New South Wales play Tasmania in Newcastle on January 30 while Victoria host South Australia in Melbourne. “Just having looked at it, I realise that scenario will present itself and I would be happy to do that,” the captain Katich told the Sydney Morning Herald about allowing Hughes and Jaques to open. “Hughesy has been great there for us all season, and that’s obviously where Jaquesy bats. Hopefully, both guys can score some big runs and help us climb the Sheffield Shield ladder.”It’s pretty simple [as to who should get chosen for South Africa], it’s about runs. When you are picking a batsman, it’s all about runs and it doesn’t matter how you get them.”Katich did not feel his demotion would disrupt his preparation for South Africa, where he will be the senior opener. “It’s not like I’m dropping from opener to No.6,” he said. “I will still be at the top of the order and see the new ball. أكد إريك تين هاج المدير الفني الهولندي مانشستر يونايتد الإنجليزي، أنه يثق في استمرار الدولي البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو مهاجم الفريق.

كريستيانو رونالدو حتى الآن متغيب عن تدريبات مانشستر يونايتد، وسط أنباء رغبته في الرحيل وتقديمه طلب للنادي من أجل المغادرة، للعب بطولة دوري أبطال أوروبا مع فريق جديد.

وارتبط البرتغالي بالعديد من الأندية الأوروبية، ولكن راتبه يبقى عائقًا أمام انتقاله إلى أي نادٍ.
